Technical characteristics of the thermal oil (hot oil) boiler:

Boiler construction and material: Boiler hot oil circulation pipes, drawn steel pipe SERPANTINE 2.5” (P235GH + NTC1) With internal collector. Boiler body sheets are of quality ST37 according to DIN 17155. Thickness 8 mm.

INSULATION: The boiler body is covered with 100 mm thick mineral wool and insulated with 0.70 mm thick galvanized sheet.

Expansion tank: The gas generated by the heat in the coolant present in the expansion tank will be released into the atmosphere. For safety reasons, the expansion tank has a closed structure that will be in constant contact with the open air.

Gas receiver (Degasser) – the compartments have a special stainless steel design to remove gases that will be released in the system when working with a steam-air mixture that may be contained in the heat transfer oil.

AUTOMATIC CONTROL DEVICES: In addition to the necessary controls for fully automatic operation of the boiler burner, high and low pressure control against temperature drop or rise and temperature and pressure control system, quality and quantity control devices for safe operation. HOT OIL FILTER: To protect the pump and other devices from foreign particles, a hot oil filter with the required filtration capacity is installed on the pump suction. The filter will be provided with a drain hole and an air cleaner type valve, connecting flanges, a cleaning cover and the necessary fittings and will be connected to its circuit. There is one flow switch on the filter.

In our system, the temperature of the hot oil can be read digitally and adjusted at the same time. For this, the ELİMKO-2000 device is used in the panel (mechanical reading is also available).

You can see that all pumps, burner, flow switch, PT-100 and other equipment operating in the system are operating with warning signals.

The device has warning and indicator lights. Thus, possible accidents are prevented by automatically shutting down the system in the event of a malfunction.

BAFALT is highly efficient thanks to its three-pass oil generator and turbulator. The applied manufacturing criteria and combustion chamber width do not create thermal cracking of the synthetic lubricant, minimize the thermal inertia of the hot oil generator and maximize combustion and heat transfer efficiency.

We, as BAFALT ASFALT MAKİNE, manufacture BKYK hot oil boilers that comply with EN 10028. Hot oil circulation pipes are made of PGH235 TC1 steel pipes.

The outer shell of the hot oil generator is insulated with galvanized, aluminum or stainless steel on a thickness of rock wool. To protect the parts affected by the flame, a suitable form of refractory material is placed in the boiler.

The Bafalt hot oil generator has 8 safety valves, which are aimed at reducing the risk to a minimum level by including the necessary control and automation equipment (temperature, pressure, flow) in the system in the event of any failures.

Improved temperature control: Temperature control in hot oil systems can be made much more efficient with the use of automatic control valves. This is a great help in ensuring standard quality in the finished product.

Low operating and maintenance costs: Operating costs are much lower than steam systems, taking into account operating costs, system efficiency, personnel costs, water costs, maintenance, repairs and spare parts.

The system is safer due to the low pressure: Compared to a steam system, hot oil generators operate at low pressure and are opened to the atmosphere through expansion tanks. The pressure in the system is limited by the pressure required to overcome the losses in the boiler and piping in the hot oil circulation pumps. The use of hot oil boilers with low pressure and safety systems requires much less qualified personnel than steam systems.

The system can be used for a long time: hot oil systems can be used without the need for replacement if fully maintained, periodically inspected and cleaned over a long period of time.

High efficiency: The efficiency of the hot oil generator is higher than that of the steam boiler due to the high efficiency of the exhaust gas outlet temperature. Also, the hot oil system is higher than that of the steam boiler due to the fact that there is no condensate loss, blowdown, steam flash and water loss like in the steam system.

Another feature of superheated oil systems is the ability to meet vapor needs through superheated oil heat exchangers. Hot oil/vapor heat exchangers can be easily integrated into the system as they do not require additional and compact equipment such as chimneys, fuel tanks.

Higher flue gas values, which appear to be disadvantageous values in hot oil systems, can be used to increase boiler efficiency with heat recovery systems such as an economizer or air heater, which must be installed at the flue outlet, or to meet the hot water needs of the factory.
