Equipment for heating bitumen in barrels.
Today, bitumen is not only collected in bulk, but is also transported and stored in specially designed insulated and/or heated tanks. Bitumen in barrels is also offered for sale to meet demand.
Bitumen that is hot-filled into drums is cooled to ambient temperature in tanks. If the bitumen in the drum is to be used as a semi-solid, it must be prepared for use by heating.
The important point here is to prevent the bitumen from aging when it is ready for use.
The barrel heating system, which is designed to solve this problem, is a system capable of receiving 24 containers. By heating the serpentine pipes with its own hot oil system, heating the bitumen, which is stored in a semi-solid state in barrels that are open on the serpentine pipes; this allows the bitumen to be discharged from the barrel into a service chamber in the system.
The volume of the service tank is 10 m3.
Bitumen, which has reached a sufficient pumping temperature, flows from the system tank to the working tanks. It is insulated with mineral wool and galvanized sheet to prevent heat loss.
The barrel heating system allows them to be easily loaded into the tank using a hydraulic system, moved along the guides using a pushing force, and removed from the rear side accordingly.
There are two removable pipes for venting gases that may arise in the barrel heating system.
