The BC-125 series are state-of-the-art battery chargers that offer very high efficiency and low cost in a compact plastic DIN rail housing. The chargers are designed to withstand high levels of disruption in the harsh automotive environment. The chargers are virtually indestructible, with protection against overload, short circuit, high temperature and reverse battery. Overload protection limits the current, not short circuit. Chargers with lockout protection will shut down in the event of an overload and will not be able to charge a discharged battery at its rated current. In the event of a short circuit or overload, the BC-125 charger does not turn off, but simply outputs the rated current, which allows you to fully charge an empty battery. In the event of overheating, the charger will automatically reduce the output current and continue normal operation. The BC-125 chargers have an input voltage range of 170-305 V, which allows use in most countries with a rated voltage of 220 V to 277 V. The rated output power is fully available in the entire range of 170-305 V AC without reducing the rated characteristics. The chargers offer a green operating mode. The green mode consists in reducing the operating frequency when the load is reduced. In this way, the chargers reduce their losses, helping to protect the environment. At very low loads, they switch to surge mode to further reduce consumption. The chargers feature very low no-load power consumption, which again helps protect the environment. The chargers have a peak efficiency of over 90.2%, resulting in lower long-term operating costs. For example, compared to a 12V/5A charger with an efficiency of 80%, an average load of 30%, and a lifespan of 20 years, the BC-125 will consume 500 kWh less electricity. This results in approximately $50 less energy costs per charger. A rectifier failure can operate a relay or transmit an operating status to a control module that issues an alarm in the event of a failure.
