The number of vacancies officially available on the market today ranges between 24,000 and 30,000. At the same time, there are significantly more candidates looking for work.

According to the State Employment Center, most people are looking for it in the areas of wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery, the processing industry, the agricultural sector, and everything related to food and pharmacology.

Without specialized education, the employment center counted about 2.5 thousand vacancies.

– These are the simplest professions – utility workers, agricultural workers, assistants during repair work. These are the so-called gray collars.

A driver is not the easiest profession, because it requires a category. Just getting behind the wheel is an option. But yes, there is a demand for drivers. Only in Kyiv there are offers from 17 to 30 thousand UAH. These are mainly drivers of trucks, transportation, logistics, delivery of goods, humanitarian aid.

There are vacancies for turners in Kyiv with a salary of 17-20 thousand, electricians - from 15 to 20 thousand UAH. There are vacancies in the capital for doctors - from 16 to 27 thousand UAH depending on the category, - said Olena Melnyk, Deputy Director of the Department of Employment Policy Implementation of the State Employment Center.

According to the job search site Work.ua, popular vacancies include sales managers, administrators, accountants, drivers, and cooks.

– Business primarily needs those who know how to sell, that is, bring in money, and those who know how to organize (managers, administrators). These are two areas that are important for the recovery of business: small, medium, large, – says Maksym Pylypenko, PR director of the Work.ua portal.

If you are looking for a job with a salary of 10-15 thousand UAH, the most popular positions in Ukraine are sales consultant, administrator, cook, accountant, office manager, cashier, as well as barista, seamstress, storekeeper, loader, manicurist, call center operator, and waiter.

Grocery retail is looking for the most personnel for the positions of sales consultants, sales cashiers, hall managers, and sales hall administrators, as confirmed by colleagues from the market at grc.ua.

– Today, many are looking for sellers. It is quite easy to get a job in such a position, but not so many people want to get this job. Because there are changes there, the work is difficult. Their salaries are not high – from 10 thousand UAH. It is slightly higher for sales floor administrators.

However, this salary is still lower than the average in Ukraine as a whole. Both before the war and now, salespeople, workers in the field of blue-collar professions, construction workers, and agriculture were among the top ten most sought-after positions, notes Ruslana Berezivska, head of the grc.ua expert and analytical center.

She adds that there are also vacancies for security guards with a salary of 10-15 thousand. There are not so many of them in the market as a whole, because they were the first to be laid off both during the pandemic and now, but they do exist.

There are also, as an option for part-time work, vacancies for mystery shoppers. There are quite a few of them. But it is quite difficult to meet all the requirements to get this salary. You go to a cafe, a store or a gas station, study all the quality standards that you have to check. You have a script that you have to follow. You have to take and add a photo of the receipt, a high-quality audio recording, fill out a questionnaire.

– The money does not come immediately, but only after about two months, while the company that conducted the inspection and the company that was inspected settle the accounts. And in order to have a minimum income, you need to make several purchases every day. That is, it is quite difficult. But if there is a need for money and there is no other option, then there is such an option, – the analyst emphasizes.

One of the latest studies by grc.ua showed that Ukrainians who worked in offices and found themselves unemployed are willing to work with their hands.

– It is office workers who suffer the most from labor market crises, lose their jobs, and are subject to layoffs. And the study showed that Ukrainians are ready to work with their hands for a part-time job or to change their profession. We are a hardworking nation.

Women can sew, embroider, cook, bake cakes, do manicures. Men can work with electrical appliances, plumbing. And in working professions, where these skills may be in demand, salaries are quite small - from 10-15 thousand UAH. The work is hard, and the salaries are small. But in general, Ukrainians are ready to change the white collar to the blue one, - adds Berezivska.

Today, the opportunity to work remotely is important to many people, as many Ukrainians have moved to other regions or abroad.

So, a salary of 10-15 thousand, by getting a job and working remotely, can be obtained in such positions as journalist, SMM manager, English or German teacher, author of student works, call center operator, content manager, author, tourism manager.

– Approximately 15% of all vacancies are remote work. For example, in the same period last year there were 5% remote work vacancies. Although there were 100 thousand vacancies then, and today there are 30 thousand. But still we see that the share of remote work has increased, – says Maksym Pylypenko.

In general, the labor market is experiencing a deep crisis: today the employer dictates the conditions and chooses the employee, not the other way around.
