General recommendations before any tests
- Donate blood on an empty stomach (8–12 hours without eating), drink only water.
- Avoid alcohol 24–48 hours before the examination.
- In the morning - no coffee, tea, juices, or chewing gum.
- Avoid fatty, fried, and spicy foods the day before.
- Reduce physical activity; sit for 10–15 minutes before taking a break.
Complete blood count (CBC)
Avoid: fatty foods, sweets, sausages; strong tea, coffee, juices.
Let's assume: light porridge without oil, neutral vegetables, water.
Biochemical blood test
Do not consume 12 hours before delivery: fried and fatty foods, dairy products, eggs, nuts, fast food, alcohol. You can only drink plain water.
Blood glucose
Before the test, exclude: sweets, chocolate, pastries and pasta, sweet drinks, fruits with a high sugar content (grapes, bananas). Do not chew gum either.
Hormonal tests
Not recommended: coffee, strong tea, chocolate, alcohol, spicy and very salty foods. Some tests are performed on certain days of the cycle - check with your doctor.
Urine analysis
Before collecting a sample, avoid: beets, carrots and coloring products; salted, smoked, pickled; large doses of vitamin C and caffeine. Do not overload with water so as not to «dilute» the sample.
Stool analysis
Do not use: red meat, spinach, beets, iron supplements, foods/berries that stain stool. It is advisable not to take antibiotics and probiotics 5–7 days before the microflora study.
