A few honest words from my experience

I am often asked why I love British Shorthairs so much. The answer is simple: they combine tenderness, good manners and a cheerful character. When such a baby appears in the house, the atmosphere changes - it seems to become quieter and cozier. They are not noisy, but they are always nearby. My favorite morning begins with a quiet "purr" and a careful "alarm clock" - a light touch of the paw on the cheek, as if saying: "Hey, it's time to have breakfast together.".

Funny situations happen to them all the time. For example, a red-haired kitten once fell asleep right in a shoebox - he loves "minks" so much that any box is like a small house for him. The black boy is a real gentleman: he loves to sit next to me while I work on my laptop and "helps" me turn the pages of a book with his paw. The gray girl is a researcher: she can bring her favorite foil ball from the toy basket and persistently "ask" to play fetch (yes, they often bring the toy back, like dogs!).

Another feature of theirs is tact. The British sense the mood: when tired, they do not impose themselves, they will simply lie down next to you and calmly purr - this is better than any anti-stress. When there are children in the house, they play willingly, but without "wild jumps". We do not have a single scratched closet: if there is a scratching post and a couple of favorite toys, the furniture is safe. They get used to the tray quickly - usually a few days are enough, the main thing is to put it in a quiet place and praise it for the correct "address".

Care is simple: 1-2 times a week, lightly comb the fur to make it lush and shiny. The ears of lop-eared cats are delicate - I carefully inspect them from time to time and, if necessary, wipe them with a special lotion. They are clean by nature, so bathing is rarely necessary, but attention and communication are daily. And yes, they really like "home rituals": meeting at the door, accompanying them to the kitchen, "supervising" the folding of bed linen (especially when there is an opportunity to jump in the sheets).
