A freon receiver is included in each refrigeration unit.
A receiver is a steel horizontal (or vertical) cylindrical vessel. Depending on the purpose, there are linear, drainage, circulation, protective and reserve receivers.
The main function of the receiver is to smoothly fill the condenser and evaporator with freon, and to ensure uninterrupted supply of liquid freon to the expansion valve.
It is desirable that the receiver can hold all the liquid freon in the system, in case of repair work.
Linear receivers are designed to relieve the condenser of liquid refrigerant and are a compensating tank in case of uneven refrigerant supply to the evaporation system.
